ENVIRONMENT

GFI Drywall Services, Inc. is a very environmentally conscious company. Over the last three years, GFI has recycled over 4530 tons of gypsum wall board scrap. In addition, GFI has recycled nearly 50,000 lbs of scrap metal in the last six month alone.

One of the products GFI Drywall Services, Inc. uses is G-P Gypsum’s “Tough Rock” wallboard. “Tough Rock” wallboard is made using a combination of natural gypsum and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) Gypsum.  FGD Gypsum is a byproduct of coal fired power plant scrubbers, which resolve acid rain producing sulfur dioxide stack emissions. In addition, GFI uses a low rated Volatile Organic Compound prep-coat primer, which cuts down on the chemical gas emissions into the air.

GFI Drywall Services is dedicated to doing it’s part to help the environment and takes pride in recycling 98% of it’s operation waste.

On or after April 22, 2010, firms working in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities must be certified ad use lead safe work practices during renovations. The EPS may authorize states, territories and tribes to enforce the rule. GFI currently employs three people certified by the EPA in lead safety.
